Something Borrowed Trailer Starring Kate Hudson, John Krasinski, Ginnifer Goodwin

Something Borrowed Trailer: Ginnifer Goodwin and Kate Hudson Weave a Tangled Web of Love

Emily Giffin's chick-lit novel Something Borrowed pretty much reads exactly like a screenplay for a romantic comedy, so it's no surprise that the first trailer for the film looks like a fairly loyal adaptation. Ginnifer Goodwin and Kate Hudson star as Rachel and Darcy, a pair of childhood best friends that couldn't be more opposite (Rachel's the mousy, nice girl, Darcy is the beautiful bitch). Their friendship gets mucked up when Rachel realizes her feelings for Darcy's dreamy fiancé Dex (Colin Egglesfield, from the Melrose Place reboot), and sleeps with him ahead of her best friend's wedding. Uh-oh.

Some fans of the book were displeased with how the film was cast, but I think the trailer may alleviate some of the doubt. Kate Hudson has no trouble at all playing the snobby mean girl (she's basically reprising her Bride Wars role), while Egglesfield is actually a breath of fresh air among his fellow famous faces. I'm most happy to see that John Krasinski's character Ethan has been beefed up for the movie and that he'll take on a lot of the comic relief here — a la his role in It's Complicated.

The trailer looks cookie-cutter to say the very least, but it's also got some promise (mostly because of the guys). Watch it for yourself and weigh in when you

Don't care how cheesy it looks (or if people think it's a rehash of Kate Hudson's movie "Bride Wars"), I'm excited to see it. I love chick flicks, and I love that John Krasinski's in this, too.

Loved the books and saw some of it being filmed in East Hampton over the summer so supper excited to see the movie! I also hate Kate Kudson and hated Darcy so I think that's a perfect fit! LOL. When seeing some of it being filmed I was surprised to see John's character Ethan filming in the Hampton's since in the book he never comes over to the states....I think that might bother me in the movie a little. It seems as though he comes to see Rachel rather than Rachel flying out to see him.
