This Wild Star Wars Theory Connects Snoke to Anakin Skywalker

At this point, we've seen more than our fair share of Star Wars [1] theories. The past couple years alone have yielded quite a few wild ideas. Could Rey secretly be a Palpatine [2]? Could Darth Maul [3], Mace Windu [4], or even Jar Jar Binks [5] be Supreme Leader Snoke? Suffice to say, if you've come up with a crazy idea about what lies ahead in Star Wars: The Last Jedi [6], chances are someone, somewhere has thought of it. Just as we thought we'd hit Snoke burnout, though, we've stumbled upon another new theory. And we have to say, this one's pretty compelling.

The recent theory comes from Reddit user Darby_Piper [7]. According to an edit, though, at least two other users have already come up with something similar, which may only strengthen the chances of this being real. Here's the basic idea: Anakin Skywalker and Supreme Leader Snoke are actually connected. You may recall the name Darth Plagueis; he's a powerful Dark Lord of the Sith whose abilities were so great, he could allegedly create life. Plagueis was one of the original suspects for the identity of Snoke [8], since Snoke himself is so clearly powerful. But in this theory, Plagueis didn't become Snoke. He created Snoke.

Legend has it Plagueis was trying to create life, and the Force sensed what he was doing. In retaliation, as a sort of "cause and effect" reaction, Anakin was born of this tampering. The question is, what became of the being Plagueis was trying to create? According to this theory, that being eventually went on to become Snoke. Since he was a "failed experiment" of sorts, it might explain why he's so deformed. And consider this: if Snoke was born around the same time as Anakin, it would explain one of his more mysterious quotes. He says that he witnessed the rise and fall of the Galactic Empire. It's possible he was created by Plagueis and imbued with great powers but fled for decades until the time was right to seize power.

Or, hey, maybe it's just Jar Jar Binks.
