TV Tonight: "Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll"

Ok, I love "America's Next Top Model" as much as the next reality-show junkie, but I don't know if I can stomach The CW's new reality series, "Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for The Next Doll" — and not just because it means having that awful "Don't Cha" song stuck in my head for days on end.

The series, which premieres tonight at 9 p.m. Eastern, is like a sluttier version of "Grease: You're the One That I Want." Or perhaps "Making the Band" if it were hosted by Mark McGrath (who, by the way, totally ruled on "Rock 'n' Roll Jeopardy.") Lil' Kim, meanwhile, serves as a judge. According to a CW press release:

After a nationwide audition process, the judges narrowed the dancers down to the final diverse group of nine young women, who move into a loft in Los Angeles' fashion district during the competition. Each episode has a specific theme — confidence, creativity and style are just a few of the themes addressed.

Themes? Oh goody! What do you guys think: guilty pleasure or downright intolerable? You can watch a promo for the show when you

Is it just me or does the one nearest in the picture look like Eva Longoria. Maybe they should just give up now and hire Eva, can she sing? Not like it matters.

Miss Britt - I was laughing at the same thing. Empowering - oh sure. The one that freaked me out was the blond who appeared to be botoxed. She had one fixed expression that never changed, even when the dance instructor told her to make a fierce face. How sad.

This is their downfall. Remember Spice Girls? Bad movie and then bye-bye Spice Girls. Bad TV show for PCD then bye-bye PCD.

We need more Pussycat Dolls.

I just think it is mighty ironic that THIS show will be standing in for Veronica Mars for the next few weeks. Because a show featuring catty ladies fighting, dressing like pole dancers, and competing to see who is more 'freaky' is totally so much more empowering than a show featuring a smart, witty, independent, totally adorable girl like Veronica, the modern girl's Nancy Drew. Go, CW! That having been said, I'm sure the show will draw tons of viewers. Sigh....

I HATE The PCD. H.A.T.E. I think they were sitting around half naked one day and realized one of them could sing. Then they hired a bunch of people to make the rest of them sound "decent". Then they made a bunch of moronic songs for twelve year olds to sing. They must need a replacement for the one who can sing. They could pick up any of the others at pretty much ANY stripclub.
