Taylor Swift Gets Surprisingly Candid About the Relationship That Inspired "Out of the Woods"

Taylor Swift [1] stopped by the Grammy Museum in LA to close out The Taylor Swift Experience exhibit in September, and she treated a small audience to a private concert. While we're already bummed we didn't get to go, a recording of her performance of "Out of the Woods" has been released, and it's really beautiful. Not only does she sing the track, but she introduces it with some intimate details about the relationship she was in while writing it. "The number one feeling I felt in the relationship was anxiety," she said. "It felt very fragile. It felt very tentative. It felt like, 'What's the next roadblock? What's the next thing that's going to deter this? How long until this turns into an awful mess, and we break up? Is it a month? Is it three days?'" This isn't the first time Swift has talked about "Out of the Woods," which was very likely written about her relationship with Harry Styles [2]. Watch the clip, and keep that in mind!
