Trailer For How Do You Know Starring Reese Witherspoon, Paul Rudd, and Owen Wilson

How Do You Know Trailer: Reese Witherspoon Is Stuck in the Middle

How exactly do you know when you're really in love? In the new trailer for How Do You Know, Reese Witherspoon asks herself exactly that. As professional softball player Lisa, Witherspoon questions her relationship with Manny (Owen Wilson), a major league baseball player who's not sure what he wants either. To make her situation even more complicated, she crosses paths with George (Paul Rudd), a charming down-on-his luck corporate exec whose life seems to be circling the drain.

The trailer for the romantic comedy is more somber than slapstick, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Witherspoon gets a break from her typically type A characters to play someone who doesn't have it all together — though Rudd and Wilson are predictable as the lovable everyman and clueless-but-funny airhead, respectively. It could go either way on the cliched movie meter, but the cast is just too good to resist. It opens on Dec. 17, but get a peek after the jump.

Paul Rudd is more than reason enough to see this - but I've kinda had it with these types of rom-coms. So been there, done that.

I am not sure if I will go to the theater for this film however I know that once it is up for rent, I am definitely watching it. I am a sucker for a Reese Witherspoon romantic drama/comedies. Add in Rudd and I am hooked.

I'm just so confused by this trailer. What is it even about? I'm thinking it will be a stinker.

I'll watch it just to see the D.C. scenes. I remember when they were filming here, so I'm excited to see the movie! (Also, I love to watch movies/shows filmed/set in D.C. so I can note all of the geographic inaccuracies. It's a cute show, but I think Covert Affairs is the worst offender. All of the time they show her allegedly driving from Langley to D.C., but her car is shown driving away from D.C. toward VA. And, in the most egregious offense, the scene allegedly in the D.C. metro was in what looked nothing like any D.C. metro station I've ever seen. Yes, I realize I am a nerd. And yes, I realize I annoy my mom when I call her to point out these mistakes.)
