Trailer For Jane Eyre Movie Starring Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender 2010-11-10 09:30:00

Jane Eyre Trailer: Not Your Typical Period Snoozefest

At first glance, you might write off Jane Eyre as just another classic novel adapted for the big screen. It has all the requirements: romance, muted colors, a bullheaded heroine, Dame Judi Dench. But like Charlotte Brontë's literary work, the movie's preview has a dark spirit (and threatening music to boot). Boring period film this isn't. In fact, it's kind of spooky.

Mia Wasikowska stars as Jane, a young governess under the frosty Edward Rochester (Michael Fassbender). While in his employ, Jane experiences several mysterious occurrences in the house, giving the film its horror edge. If you've read the book, you know the source of the unexplained phenomena; if you haven't, perhaps you're better left surprised. Watch the trailer when you

I agree with Catstan. The people who call period films "a snoozefest" are probably fans of Twilight. Just sayin'.

you know what i'm noticing, i feel like a lot of actresses end up getting fit into a mold in what they do and mia is starting to get into that. i like her and i think that she's got a certain keira quality but she's doing the exact same thing that keira's done and it's not necessarily the best use of their skills.

Eh, this is a book that just makes me think: another adaptation? I pretty much have a love hate affair with the story so I might see it.

This is my #1 all-time favorite book. I own three different copies and have re-read it too many times to count. I am SO EXCITED!!! Buzz, thank you so much for posting this. I really, really hope that this is the movie that finally does the book justice (I've never been satisfied with other movie adaptations).
