- What it's about: A young poet (Emma Roberts) convinces her favorite writer (John Cusack) to let her be his protégé while she pays the bills by working in an adult film store.
- What I thought: I may not have laughed out loud too many times, but Adult World is undeniably amusing. Roberts is a little over-the-top as the eager-beaver poetry student, but her scenes with Evan Peters, who plays a co-worker at the adult film store, are really endearing. Cusack is ever reliable, and I love him as the curmudgeon, even though his character takes an unexpected and somewhat dark turn.
