Yeah, yeah, The Notebook [1] is a national treasure, blah, blah, blah. I also love it, but you know which Nicholas Sparks movie is truly heartbreaking? A Walk to Remember. This week marks 15 years since its release, and I can still remember where I sat (right-hand side of the theater, middle row) when it destroyed me. I hadn't read the book, and I didn't know what was about to happen; I just thought I was watching a love story. I didn't know A Walk to Remember would be a godd*mn tragedy that would rip my heart out of my chest and stomp on it. I didn't know it would spark a lifelong admiration of Mandy Moore [2] or a deep-seated love for Shane West. I just wanted to be entertained!
