Walt Disney Studios Acquires Marvel Entertainment

Marvel at Disney's Latest Acquisition

Big Monday morning news — The Walt Disney Company has acquired the wide world of Marvel Entertainment! Disney will now have the rights to over 5,000 Marvel characters, including beloved heroes like Spider-Man, Iron Man, and The Fantastic Four.

Disney has spread its wings over the years, but to me that castle logo will always imply a younger audience. I'm looking forward to seeing how the new brand will affect some of Marvel's edgier, more mature story lines (with any luck, the adult themes will stay intact). Either way, I'm betting it won't be long before we get wind of the new Comic Book Kingdom addition to Disney World.
