The Official Westworld Trailer Is a Gory, Deeply Unnerving Look at Season 2

Apr 3 2018 - 8:05pm

"The reckoning is here."

With that chilling line, the latest trailer for season two of Westworld [1] officially has us on edge. The beautiful but deeply unsettling footage follows the HBO drama's Super Bowl Sunday spot and the first trailer's Comic-Con debut back in 2017. Although the new trailer lacks a stripped-down, piano version of Kanye West [2]'s "Runaway" ominously playing in the background like the previous clip, it does give us a glimpse into how Dolores, Teddy, Maeve, and Bernard are dealing with their newfound consciousness and the Man in Black [3]. Spoiler alert: it doesn't look good for the humans.

Between the robot bulls demolishing the theme park's offices (and some unfortunate people inside), some terrifying new "hosts," and Dolores and Teddy murdering some people on horseback (maybe some of the wealthy investors at the party in season one?), it looks like there's definitely going to be enough action to keep us all entertained when the show returns on April 22. Watch all the trailers here before we reenter the maze [4].
