Everything We Know About the Carissimi Group on Pretty Little Liars

Jun 29 2016 - 10:00am

There's always so much going on when it comes to Pretty Little Liars [1], from the constant threat of murder to a seemingly endless slew of love triangles. So, it makes sense that you might be overlooking some of the more interesting things that keep popping up on the mystery show. One of those things would probably be the mysterious Carissimi Group, which has been involved in the show for quite some time. But why does the company even matter, and what is it? Let's review everything we know about the Carissimi Group.

Jessica DiLaurentis Has Donated Money to Them

Ashley Marin (Hanna's mom) once let it slip that Jessica DiLaurentis donated money to the group. This might be why Jason also knew about it. Also, Jessica would often donate to the organization so the money would go to CeCe (aka Charlotte) throughout the early seasons of the show. That explains why "A" seemed to have so much money for costumes and more.

Hanna Receives a Scholarship From Them

Some might underestimate the fashionista, but she's actually pretty smart! The Carissimi Group does some charity work here and there, and part of that is offering scholarships. Hanna is one of the recipients.

The Organization Purchased Radley Sanitarium

After the time jump, Radley has been shut down, and the Carissimi Group has bought it and destroyed all files pertaining to its history. So now the question is, what does the group want to cover up about Radley's shady past?

Rhys Matthews Worked There as Charlotte's Decoy

Back when Charlotte was up to her old tricks, she hired Rhys Matthews as a decoy — without him knowing about it. He handled the company's finances. What's more, when Hanna started getting suspicious of her scholarship she went to him to try and turn it down.

All of Charlotte's Money Goes to the Group After Her Death

We know that Charlotte had been getting money through the group when she was in Radley, thanks to Jessica. But after she was killed, her money went back to the Carissimi Group in hopes that it would "help people." That's admirable, but we also have to keep in mind that Charlotte kept a vault and tech equipment in the Carissimi Group while she was alive, so there might be more going on than we know.

Jason DiLaurentis Is Currently in Charge

As if the family doesn't have enough entanglements with the sketchy company! Jason is now running the day-to-day duties for the Carissimi Group. He also has a minority stake in the company, while Alison had a 51 percent share. The two turned the group into a nonprofit to help people.

Mary Drake and Dr. Elliott Rollins Have Taken Over the Company

At the end of season six, we find out that these two are far from innocent. They have conspired to take over the company together — after marrying Alison and driving her into the custody of a sanitarium, Elliott is able to help Mary get ahold of Alison's shares of the company, and eventually, get all that money.
