What I'm Listening to This Week: Tayla Parx, Khalid, and Pink Sweat$

Apr 13 2019 - 3:20pm

Welcome to What I'm Listening to This Week, a new feature in which we literally just tell you what we're listening to this week — and why you should slam the play button.

This week, I was finally able to pry myself away from Jenny Lewis's new album On the Line [1] and find some new tunes to obsess over. If your upcoming plans include mixing Coke with Hennessey, stalking your ex on Instagram, or taking a road trip [2] with your best friends, do I have the soundtrack for you! So, without further ado, here's what I'm listening to on repeat this week.

Free Spirit by Khalid

Khalid's sophomore album will get you in the mood for warm Summer nights and cross-country road trips. His groovy, introspective bops go really well with Rosé.

Standout track: "Twenty One" — because you're only as young as you feel.

Listen now on Spotify [4].

Volume 2 EP by Pink Sweat$

The Philadelphia singer's follow-up EP is only 14 minutes long, but you'll spend every one of them getting your life and swaying along.

Standout track: "Body Ain't Mine" — because my favorite musical genre is Men Apologizing For Things™.

Listen now on Spotify [5].

We Need to Talk by Tayla Parx

The utterly impressive songwriter behind Ariana Grande [6]'s "Thank U, Next" and "7 Rings" released her new album, which is full of bubbly, badass pop bangers that will have you calling your girlfriends and planning a night out.

Standout track: "Rebound (feat. Joey Bada$$)" — because all the basketball references are a slam dunk.

Listen now on Spotify [7].
