What's Your Favorite Show on Basic Cable?

TNT is back in action tonight with the return of The Closer and the series premiere of Rizzoli & Isles, starring Lorraine Bracco and Angie Harmon. I know I'm not the only one who's noticed the heavy-hitting dramas that have popped up on basic cable networks over the past few years. Between Mad Men, Burn Notice, Rescue Me, and the like, it's clear that the best shows aren't reserved for the most-watched networks anymore. One Sugar employee in particular watches more shows on TNT, TBS, and USA than on the typical networks. So what say you — what's your favorite show on basic cable?

Leverage, far and away, but I enjoy Psych as well.

Oh, and I'm excited to watch Covert Affairs when that one starts, too. After Coyote Ugly, my love for Piper Perabo will never die!

Mad Men is definitely my favorite, but I love the USA shows, too. I want to start watching White Collar and I love Psych, Royal Pains, Burn Notice, and In Plain Sight. I watched Rizzoli & Isles last night, as well. It wasn't great, but it was good enough to convince me to at least watch for a few more episodes. (And, I also thought my mom and I were the only ones who watched Royal Pains!)

Does AMC count? Because they have two of the best shows: Breaking Bad and Mad Men. But I love Burn Notice and White Collar too.

I do love Burn Notice, it's very entertaining, and Jeffry Donovan is great eye candy. But I think Rescue Me is the best written/acted show on basic cable. That show continually brings me to both laughter and tears, it is both entertaining and thought provoking. I think that its rare a show can stir the range of emotion that Rescue Me does. I think the show also caught me off guard when I started watching it, because I've been a fan of Denis Leary for years. I love his stand up, and have seen many of his movies. While I have always enjoyed his work, he took my fandom to new heights with Rescue Me. He plays Tommy brilliantly, and the fact that he is also a co-writer and producer makes his role even more amazing.

Justified with Timothy Olyphant on FX. As close to perfection as it gets. For other man candy, definitely White Collar and Burn Notice.

Yay! I'm glad I'm not the only person who watched Royal Pains. Those quirky brothers crack me up.

Love me some Burn Notice and Royal Pains ... and I have to give a respectful posthumous nod to Monk for starting the whole trend.

Hellllooooo! Psych is possibly the best hour out of my week (unless, Jeffrey Donovan goes shirtless on Burn Notice, which should be happening way more often!)

@andreakro, True Blood is on HBO, not basic cable.

True Blood for sure, but is hard to say at this moment. I'm waiting for the fall to see the shows I love the most.
