Where the Wild Things Are is Number One at the Box Office in its Debut Weekend

Box Office: At the Top Is Where the Wild Things Are

Where the Wild Things Are lived up to its big expectations, taking the top spot at the box office this weekend with $32.4 million.

Audiences disregarded Law Abiding Citizen's less than stellar reviews (including my own), and the film took second place and raked in $21.2 million. Paranomal Activity continues to soar, climbing up to number three and making $20.1 million. Couples Retreat slid down from number 1 to 4 with $17.9 million, and The Stepfather rounded out the top 5 with $12.3 million.

I took my 16 year old to see Where the Wild Things Are because I used to read it to him all the time when he was little. We loved it, and I cried at least three times, but I don't think it was for small children. It was a bit darker than I expected.

I saw it and absolutely loved it. I got all teary even as early as the opening credits and cried at the end. It was so creative and in one of the scenes when they were looking for Stanley, a little girl in the audience kept saying "Stanley"! It was so precious :)

I saw Where the Wild Things are and hated it. apparently my friend and I are the only ones that hated it. None of the characters were likable, even Max. It was such want to be hipster/artsy I just couldn't buy into it. Almost left in the middle, wish we had left.

I saw Where The Wild Things Are and enjoyed it so much! Everyone there was so excited - there was even a guy who was donning a crown and read the book out loud to us all. It was super cute.

Saw Paranormal Activity this weekend.....amazing. People were yelling and screaming in the theater. Definitely couldn't sleep after, and I'm not one to be affected by movies. I'm glad to see that it did well!

We went Friday night, wearing crowns :) And I was one of the "kids" who howled along lol. SUCH an amazing movie!! I really wanna go see it at the Imax before it's too late, it must be spectacular!

WEll I wish I had gone and seen this movie I saw Couple Retreat and was really disappointed. It was not that funny and it just talked about couple problems so I didn't enjoy it at all!

I saw where the wild things are this weekend and really enjoyed it. I must say - I had to laugh when all the kids in the audience started howling along with the characters.
