Season six of Game of Thrones [1] is an absolute bloodbath. We lost a number of characters on the season finale [2], but people had been dropping like flies for weeks. In case you need a refresher, here are the folks who are gone but not forgotten. (Unless they pull a Jon Snow and come back.)

Alliser Thorne

The erstwhile commander of the Night's Watch is executed by Jon Snow for mutiny.

Olly

Olly, who had delivered the killing blow to Jon Snow, gets executed along with the rest of the mutineers at Castle Black.

Khal Moro

Khal Moro manages to take Daenerys as a prisoner and bring her to Vaes Dothrak, but she burns him alive inside of the Temple.

Balon Greyjoy

The head of House Greyjoy and last surviving king of the War of the Five Kings meets his end at the hands of his brother Euron Greyjoy, who tosses him off a bridge during a fierce storm.

Doran Martell

Prince Doran Martell, the brother of Oberyn Martell and head of House Martell, wants to keep the peace with the Lannisters. But Ellaria Sand, Oberyn's lover, is a little more thirsty for revenge. She stabs Doran to death when he attempts to appease the Lannisters.

Roose Bolton

When Roose Bolton's wife gives birth to a legitimate heir, his bastard son Ramsay stabs Roose to death and assumes command of House Bolton.

Fat Walda

In order to remove any legitimate heirs from the line of succession, Ramsay Bolton feeds Roose Bolton's wife, Fat Walda, and her newborn son to his hounds.

The Three-Eyed Raven

The Night King slays the Three-Eyed Raven when Bran accidentally leads the White Walkers to the great weirwood tree through his visions.

Leaf

Leaf, one of the Children of the Forest, sacrifices herself to help Bran and Meera escape from the White Walkers.

Hodor

Hodor dies holding the door against a horde of the undead chasing after Bran.

Lady Crane

Arya initially saves the actress Lady Crane from her ordered death at the hands of the Faceless Men, and in return Lady Crane nurses Arya back to health . . . then the Waif murders Lady Crane to finish the job and get back at Arya.

The Blackfish

Although the Blackfish dodged the carnage at the Red Wedding, he couldn't escape Lannister and Frey forces in the end. He dies when Jaime Lannister retakes Riverrun.

Septon Ray

The kindly Septon Ray takes in the Hound to live with his band of villagers but is murdered by errant members of the Brotherhood Without Banners.

The Waif

The sneaky, vengeful servant of the Faceless God dies when she attempts to get rid of Arya.

Wun Wun

The Wildling giant dies at the Battle of the Bastards when he is shot full of arrows.

Rickon Stark

The youngest Stark child dies at the Battle of the Bastards when Ramsay uses him as bait in a cruel trick played on Jon Snow.

Ramsay Bolton

The villainous Ramsay Bolton dies with a bit of poetic justice, mauled by his own hounds under the orders of Sansa Stark.

Margaery and Loras Tyrell

Margaery might be smart enough to know something's wrong at the Great Sept of Baelor, but unfortunately she's not quick enough to save herself or her brother, Loras, from the wildfire explosion that Cersei sets off.

Mace Tyrell

Mace Tyrell dies alongside his children, Margaery and Loras Tyrell, at the Great Sept of Baelor.

The High Sparrow

The High Sparrow pays the ultimate price for underestimating Cersei, dying in the explosion she sets off at her own trial.

Kevan Lannister

Cersei and Jaime's uncle Kevan Lannister also dies in the blast at the Great Sept of Baelor.

Tommen Baratheon

When Tommen realizes that his mother has set the city on fire and murdered his wife, he jumps from the window of his room in the Red Keep.

Walder Frey

Arya Stark feeds Walder Frey the remains of his own sons before slitting his throat in revenge for the Red Wedding.
