For those of us who have been watching The Walking Dead [1] since season one, it's been a long road. Beloved characters (miss you, Beth) have perished and we never really know who might be next [2]. It's stressful, to say the least. It can also be kind of hard to remember which of the main characters are still alive. After all, the show is led by an ensemble, so there are new people coming and going all the time. For the record, here are the main characters who are still kicking at the beginning of season seven, save for whoever is at the end of Negan's bat [3].
Rick
Rick has served as our eyes and ears since the very first episode, and though he's been through the emotional wringer, he's still alive.
Carl
Carl's only casualties have been his right eye and his innocence.
Judith
If they kill off baby Judith, we riot.
Carol
Carol has used her matronly exterior to her advantage in several life-threatening situations, but in reality, she's stone cold and has serious skills with a pistol.
Daryl
Daryl can credit his crossbow for keeping him alive since season one.
Glenn
Glenn has escaped death numerous times, but he might not be so lucky now that Negan is in the picture.
Maggie
Glenn's other half is pregnant, so it would be a real bummer if she dies in the near future.
Michonne
Michonne has stayed alive by slicing up walkers with her katana.
Sasha
Except for some major emotional trauma, Sasha has been going strong since season three.
Tara
Tara loses her girlfriend, Denise, to an arrow to the eye in season six, but she's still kicking.
Eugene
Despite being the actual worst, Eugene is still alive.
Rosita
A main character since season four, Rosita is still safe for now.
Abraham
Abraham is strong as hell, and he's still OK.
Father Gabriel
Father Gabriel's biggest weakness is his extreme guilt, but he's still alive for now.
Aaron
Aaron has managed to stay alive since he first appeared in the fifth season.
Morgan
One of Rick's original allies, Morgan stays alive thanks to the kindness of a pacifist named Eastman who teaches Morgan his ways.
Spencer
Spencer, the last surviving member of the Monroe family, is absorbed into the group after Alexandria becomes overrun with walkers.
Enid
Poor Enid is mentally tortured but still alive.
Jesus
Jesus isn't a main character per se, but he makes a lasting impression and is set to appear in the seventh season as a person who is not dead.
