ABC's upcoming live adaptation of The Little Mermaid [1] has found its sea legs. Ahead of the televised event on Nov. 5, the network shared a first look at its cast [2] all in character — and, yes, under the sea — in a nostalgia-inducing promo.
After famously voicing Moana, Auli'i Cravalho will be taking on her second Disney character as Ariel. She is joined by Queen Latifah [3] as Ursula, Shaggy as Sebastian, John Stamos as Chef Louis, and Graham Phillips as Prince Eric. Phillips previously appeared on Riverdale [4] as Nick St. Clair, and he is perhaps most known for his role as Zach Florrick on The Good Wife.
This will mark ABC's second-ever TV adaptation [6] after Dirty Dancing in 2017 — however, that one was not live. The Little Mermaid Live! is meant to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the original animated movie. In addition, Disney is currently working on a live-action film adaptation starring Halle Bailey [7].
