Everything You Need to Know About American Horror Story: Hotel

The new season is subtitled Hotel, which sounds like the perfect place for American Horror Story to haunt. The fictional hotel is called Hotel Cortez and will be set in downtown LA, which sounds a lot like a few of these real haunted places.

The show's poster revealed the official premiere date: Oct. 7.

Lange is not appearing in season five, but at TCA Murphy seemed to imply that she could come back for subsequent seasons.

Lady Gaga is stepping in as the new leading lady, which she announced in a creepy teaser. You may be skeptical, but we're confident she'll kill it.

In addition to Lady Gaga, Matt Bomer, Cheyenne Jackson, and so many more have been cast. Bomer guest starred on American Horror Story: Freak Show, and Jackson has appeared on another Ryan Murphy show, Glee.

One of the biggest announcements during the Comic-Con panel was the names of the new characters: Evan Peters is James March, Kathy Bates is Iris, Matt Bomer is Donovan, and Sarah Paulson is Hypodermic Sally. Since then, we've gotten detailed character descriptions!

Ryan Murphy said at the Comic-Con panel that "more and more" characters from previous seasons will check into the hotel. There are four characters who we know have crossed over, but we have ideas for who else should join the list!

No, one of them isn't Rubber Man. But Murphy told EW that he will be introducing both a serial killer nicknamed the Ten Commandments Killer as well as The Addiction Demon. The latter is "a creature in the vein of Rubberman or Bloodyface, who has no eyes or mouth but does wield a nasty, conical drillbit dildo." Yeah, eff that.

Though the series is supposedly set in the present day, Evan Peters is playing the twisted architect who builds the Hotel Cortez in the '30s. Lily Rabe is playing Aileen Wuornos, a real-life serial killer who was executed in 2002.

FX has released pictures of the cast from the first three episodes of the new season, "Checking In," "Chutes and Ladders," and "Mommy."

You won't be able to get over how fierce everyone looks in the brand-new character pictures.
