ABC has chosen its new Bachelor, Matt James, and he's definitely a familiar face for Bachelor Nation. The 28-year-old real estate broker was initially meant to featured in Clare Crawley's season as one of her contestants [1], but he's also close with Tyler Cameron from Hannah Brown's season of The Bachelorette [2]. Matt and Tyler are longtime best friends, roommates, and business partners. The two of them run the charity ABC Food Tours together, and they're as likely to be spotted goofing off on Instagram as promoting their charity work.

Ironically, Tyler nearly predicted Matt joining the franchise last year. "I can't wait to watch [Matt] next year," he joked to People in 2019 when asked about who he'd choose to be the next Bachelor [3]. "I know my mom signed him up." Their interview with People also revealed just how far back their friendship goes: they first met in college when they were both playing football at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, several years back.
