Camila Mendes is sharing gratitude for her career start on "Riverdale." As the show approaches its its seventh and final season [1] airing next year, the 28-year-old actor reminisced about her time spent portraying Veronica Lodge — and looked to the future — in an interview with Hunger Magazine [2]. "It feels exciting in the sense that it's the beginning of a new chapter," she said.

"It's the beginning of a new chapter."

"I can walk away from this experience feeling that it was a significant chapter of my life that I'll never forget, and I'm glad we're ending it on such a high," Mendes elaborated. In a previous interview for the November 2022 issue of Porter [3], Mendes spoke about career longevity and trying to stay busy since landing "Riverdale" at 21. "I don't keep myself busy because I don't like being idle; I keep myself busy because I have anxiety about my career," she explained. "I've always been in that frame of mind. I understand that this industry is so fickle. Fame is fleeting. You can be successful, but you're only as good as your last thing."

Despite the stress, Mendes liked the consistency the show provided. "'Riverdale' is where I feel grounded and chill; it's like a comfort blanket — it's my safety net," she told Porter. And although Mendes added new projects to her slate like "Do Revenge" and the upcoming "Música," she knows leaving the show will be an adjustment. "It's where I feel at home," she said. "It's gonna be weird to not have that anchoring anymore."
