12 Celebrity Relatives Reveal Their True Identities on "Claim to Fame"

Sep 7 2022 - 9:25am

For Frankie and Kevin Jonas [1], being a celebrity is in their blood. For the 12 contestants on "Claim to Fame," being a celebrity is also in their blood — we just don't know how. The new ABC show, hosted by the two Jonas brothers, has 12 celebrity relatives competing against each other to discover who they are each related to. The winner of the series — well, the last person who is able to keep their celebrity relative a secret at the end — will win $100K. In the premiere episode, the contestants shared their name, the relationship to their famous relative, their famous relative's profession, and the biggest award their relative has received. The catch? They're lying about some of their answers.

While some of the contestants have revealed their identity to viewers during the introductions, they are all hiding their relatives from each other. In the trailer, it was revealed that relatives of Zendaya [2], Chuck Norris, Simone Biles [3], and Whoopi Goldberg would be among the cast, so of course our wheels have been turning since the series premiered on July 11. Each week, the contestants participate in challenges that help them get to know each other, but that also potentially expose clues about who people's relatives are. There is also a giant blue clue wall, which contains subtle hints about the cast members' celebrity relatives.

On Sept. 6, after intense competitions and many ruined alliances, the winner of "Claim to Fame" was crowned. Get to know all 12 contestants from "Claim to Fame" ahead, and see if you know who their famous relatives are.

Who Is Louise From "Claim to Fame" Related To?

From the moment she graces our screens, it's obvious that "Louise" is related to Simone Biles. Her real name is actually Adria Louise Biles, and she's the Olympic gymnast's younger sister [5]. Louise attempts to fool the cast when she comes out in basketball attire for the talent show in the first episode, but her striking resemblance to her older sister makes it extremely difficult to conceal her identity. During the cast introductions, Louise lies about her first name, but admits that her famous relative is her sister who is an athlete. She also lies that her famous relative's biggest award is the Honda-Broderick Cup, an award for college-level female athletes, which Simone Biles never won.

During the eighth episode, Louise is eliminated when Logan correctly guesses her celebrity relative. She survived the competition thus far after winning multiple challenges and being granted immunity during elimination ceremonies. "Yeah, everyone has known for a long time because, hello?" she said, motioning to her face. "My name is Adria Louise Biles and she is my sister. . . She is like my best friend. We're super, super close, we're only two years apart and she basically raised me. She's an amazing person, inside and out and she's become an inspiration to me and a lot of people. During the fashion show, Logan's clue is a black cowboy hat.

Logan's identity remains a secret to his castmates in sixth episode, but the country singer has proved to be helpful in guessing his castmates' relatives. In the seventh episode, Logan tells the cameras that his clue in the estate sale is a palm-leaf cowboy hat. "I'm Brittany, and I am Brett Favre's daughter," she admits to the cameras. "He is a Super Bowl champion, three-time MVP, and a Hall of Fame quarterback. My dad and I are really close; I did inherit his competitive nature. At my house, winning is the only option."

Pepper makes it to the top three, and she's eliminated by Logan in the finale. "My name is Pepper Martin. I am the granddaughter of Dean Martin. He passed away when I was only 3 years old. My dad was his youngest son," she says. "Dean was coined the 'King of Cool.' He is the reason we have comedy roasts, and he has sang all those wonderful classic songs. While Dominique thinks that the dress could be related to Billie Holiday, who was recently portrayed by Andra Day in the movie, "The United States vs. Billie Holiday," she is proven wrong during the elimination ceremony. Kai is not related to Day and her celebrity relative is still in question.

However, in episode five, Louise chooses to reveal a clue about Kai as a reward for being captain of the winning team during the challenge. The clue confuses Louise, but it's revealed to the viewers that the clue represents the words "Fun Knee Woman in Girls Trip." "My sister and I are extremely close; I feel like she is my biggest cheerleader," L.C. says. "The one thing that I hope to get out of this experience personally is more self-confidence. I came into this game with horrible social anxiety, so this is me stepping out of the shadow and into the spotlight."

While viewers know the truth about L.C.'s identity, as of episode five, her castmates are still clinging to the possibility that she's Laurence Fishburne's daughter. They're not too far off in their thinking, however, as Fishburne stars in "Akeelah and the Bee" alongside Palmer.

After exposing Logan's identity in the finale, L.C. is named the winner of "Claim to Fame" and the $100,000 prize! "My name is Loreal Chanel, 'L.C.,' I am Keke Palmer's older sister. She is an actress, a singer, a millennial diva. She is my biggest fan just as much as I'm her biggest fan. My parents told me they were pregnant, and I said, 'Can we name the baby Keke?' And my mom said, 'That's not a real name,' and they gave her the middle name Keyana so that we could call her Keke. She's been Keke her whole life," L.C. says.

Who Is Maxwell From "Claim to Fame" Related To?

With the shark and dinosaur characters imprinted in the wall, viewers thought Maxwell was the grandson of Steven Spielberg [11], who famously directed "Jaws" and "Jurassic Park," but the surprising final minutes of the premiere episode proved otherwise.

Maxwell spoke about how his grandfather didn't have a cell phone and was hard to get in touch with, often having to go through lawyers to talk to him. When Pepper is chosen as the person to guess another contestant's identity, she puts Maxwell on the spot and is ready to declare him as Spielberg's grandson. Before she's able to guess his identity, Maxwell is disqualified from the competition and eliminated from the house for using a secret cell phone. In the second episode of "Claim to Fame," one of the clues the cast members receive is an orange, which is a nod to X's sister, "Orange Is the New Black [12]" star Laverne Cox. X's real name is M Lamar.

X is eliminated by Lark in the third episode of the show after she receives a clue from Louise, confirming X's famous relative. As he makes his exit, X had the entire cast tearing up with some beautiful words about his sister.

I think she's the most extraordinary person I've ever met. She has endured all kinds of insanity and continues to stand with so much dignity and pride and go forward and be an inspiration for so many people. Her success is so much bigger than her.
