Things are getting hectic in the household! During Disney's 2020 Investor Day [2] on Dec. 10, the media conglomerate gave us a lot to look forward to in the coming months. We learned the exciting news about Chris Evans voicing the lead [3] in Lightyear, the Kardashians continuing their reality television legacy on Hulu [4], and of course, a ton of new Star Wars spinoffs [5] to theorize about. One of the best announcements, however, is that Gabrielle Union will star [6] in a "reimagining" of Cheaper by the Dozen! The original 1950 movie based on a book of the same title was remade in 2003 with Steve Martin [7] and Bonnie Hunt. It was the epitome of chaotic family energy that continued to warm our hearts in the 2005 sequel, and we know Union will do the same in the film.

Disney announced the movie remake [8] in a tweet, adding that it will be spearheaded by Black-ish [9] producer Kenya Barris and available on Disney+ in 2022. "The story centers on a blended family of 12, navigating a hectic home life and their family business." If there's anything we know about Barris's work, it's that he truly honors the capabilities of a power woman in a busy household — à la Rainbow Johnson (Tracee Ellis Ross) in Black-ish [10] — and we can't wait to see what he has in store for Union's role.
