Halsey's Book of Poems Explores Feminism, Sexuality, Mental Illness, and More

Nov 11 2020 - 7:59am

Halsey has channeled her talent for writing prolific and poetic lyrics into a book of poems that has our hearts feeling red, blue, and purple all over. I Would Leave Me If I Could [1], which was released on Nov. 10, is Halsey's first book of poems and was written with the intention of dismantling conventional ideas of "what it means to be a feminist in search of power." Much like her music, the autobiographical poems covers topics such as mental health, sexuality, relationships, longing, love, and more. The cover of the book also features an original piece of artwork by Halsey titled "American Woman."

‪"I wrote a few thousand sentences but am somehow struggling to string together a single one to summarize how excited I am about this," the "Graveyard" singer [2] captioned an Instagram post announcing the news back in June. If her profound song lyrics are anything to go by, we expect to read this book with a box of tissues nearby. Buy Halsey's book of poetry for yourself ahead.
