8 Harry Potter/Game of Thrones Crossovers That Might Blow Your Mind a Little

Our ever-loving fan minds were blown once again when we learned that Jim Broadbent would be joining Game of Thrones last season — because he's yet another Harry Potter alum to join HBO's hit show. There have been a lot of crossovers between the show and the series, so many that you may not know about all of them. If you want to know about everyone who has gone from the land of wizards and Muggles to the land of dragons and kings, just keep reading.

Jim Broadbent

Jim Broadbent joined the Game of Thrones cast in season seven, making him the latest Harry Potter cast member to cross over. He plays Maester Ebrose who mentors Sam in Oldtown.

Game of Thrones' Lady Stark is one of the series' fiercest mothers . . .

David Bradley as Walder Frey

Hey, remember the giant jerk face who betrays the Starks and hosts the horrible Red Wedding? David Bradley plays him on Game of Thrones, and he is also a notorious character in Harry Potter.

Bradley is also Filch, the Hogwarts caretaker, who creeps out the kids with his cat, Mrs. Norris.

Natalia Tena as Osha

Natalia Tena played the wildling woman who helped Bran and Rickon escape from Winterfell.

Tena is also a memorably kickass woman in the Harry Potter series: Tonks, the wizard of many hair colors.

Ciarán Hinds was the fierce leader of the free folk before being sentenced to death by Stannis Baratheon.

Hinds also shows up toward the end of the Harry Potter franchise as Dumbledore's brother Aberforth.

The Dillane Family Connection

Now, this crossover isn't as simple as the same actors appearing in both franchises, but it's too weird not to mention. Stay with us: Stephen Dillane and Frank Dillane are father and son, seen here promoting their 2012 film Papadopoulos & Sons (in which they also play father and son).
