It's almost time to say goodbye to Insecure, and we're not ready! On Aug. 23, HBO announced that the fifth and final season of Issa Rae's fan-favorite comedy will be premiering in October [2], and on Sept. 29, the network dropped the official trailer. In the clip, we see Issa Dee (Rae) reflect on her life as she returns to her old stomping grounds and visits Stanford University, her alma mater.

"I just want to fast-forward to the part of my life when everything's OK," Issa says. We also get to see where the entire gang ends up as the series comes to an end. Back in November 2020, Rae told POPSUGAR that season five will be all about "grounding and rooting oneself [3]." Ahead of the upcoming season, HBO also dropped another clip of the show to give us an inside look at what to expect.

Filming for the final season officially wrapped in June [4], and some of the set photos offer a glimpse of what's in store for the characters, including a potential reunion between Issa and Nathan [5]. Guess we'll just have to wait until October to see what actually goes down, but in the meantime, you can brush up on details for season five ahead.
