On Tuesday night, the singers and Voice [4] coaches took to the stage to perform their holiday song, which is featured on the deluxe version of Legend's holiday album, A Legendary Christmas. The duo looked quite festive as they sang the updated lyrics on a stage covered in Christmas trees and decorations.

The duet, which was penned by Legend and Insecure's Natasha Rothwell [5], updates the the holiday song's more controversial lyrics [6]. While some fans praised the new version, others still found themselves favoring the original [7]. During her daytime show, Clarkson chatted with Legend's wife, Chrissy Teigen, about the backlash, joking, "Did you not hear that John and I ruined Christmas recently?"
