Kirsten Stewart [1] was the lady of the night at the Film Independent Spirit Awards, where she served as the honorary chair [2] on March 6. Joined by "Spencer" director Pablo Larrain, Stewart stunned in a white sequined Chanel jumpsuit. Last month, the 31-year-old star earned her first Oscar nomination [3] for her spot-on portrayal of Princess Diana in "Spencer." [4]

"Independent film has been a formative and vital aspect of my life since I was a child," Stewart said in a statement ahead of the Santa Monica award show. "As an insider and an outsider it's clear to me how the support it offers artists is essential. I couldn't be more proud to serve as honorary chair this year and to help in celebrating all the nominees!"

Past Spirit Awards honorary chairs include Lena Waithe, Ava DuVernay [5], Jessica Chastain, Ang Lee, Jodie Foster [6], Kerry Washington [7], Samuel L. Jackson [8], and Nicole Kidman [9].
