Lauren Alaina celebrated the memory of her late stepfather Sam Ramker during Dancing With the Stars [1] on Monday night. During an emotional performance, the 24-year-old country singer did a contemporary dance to her song, "The Other Side," which she wrote about her stepfather's final few moments before dying of cancer. The performance also marked the one-year anniversary of his death, which made the tribute performance even more bittersweet. Even Alaina couldn't hold back her tears as she embraced her mom after her number.

Ahead of the performance, Alaina took to Twitter to pay tribute to Ramker [2] writing, "He was always my champion. Now he's my guardian angel. I can't believe my stepdad has been gone a year today.
