There are a lot of reasons that Netflix's Love Is Blind became such a phenomenon: the experiment is intriguing, the people are zany enough to be interesting, and the entire show is the right degree of messy to keep us coming back for the next episode. But even more so, the genuine love shared between the few couples that made it to the end gave fans hope that there's something at the end of this cynical roller coaster we're all on. And no couple did that like Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton, from the very moment they met.

Despite the differences between them, not just accounting for race, the two quickly fell in love and became the standout couple of the season. From their ridiculously good looks (Cameron puts Bruce Banner's scientist looks to shame) to their open communication and clear love for one another, the couple quickly became the show's fan favorite. They Were Smitten From the Start

Lauren and Cameron were the first to get engaged, and they do it in the first episode! Though the two had dates with other contestants, sparks were flying during their first conversation. When Lauren mentioned that she'd never met anyone from Maine before, Cameron replied that he's "the only one you'll ever need to meet," and we're pretty sure we felt Lauren's giddiness at that line! Though we don't see the full length of their dates, the two quickly grew close, with Cameron telling Lauren that he felt the strongest connection with her. They even shared a super-intimate moment when Cameron revealed that his mother had been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, which drove the two to tears. So it wasn't a surprise when they ended up sealing the deal by day five!

Cameron Never Wavered in His Devotion to Their Relationship

Cameron ensured there was never any doubt that he was devoted to Lauren. If there was a Lauren Speed fan club, we're pretty sure Cameron would be president. Just rewatching his proposal is enough to get the tears flowing! Throughout the season, he's attentive to her needs, open to hearing her fears and concerns, and supportive of whatever path she wants their relationship to take. When he took her to his home, he revealed that he was already thinking about using the spare room as office space for Lauren's studio, and was ecstatic when she mentioned using it for future children. Lauren Was Refreshingly Honest About Her Fears Before Marriage

The Love Is Blind experiment isn't exactly the standard method for falling in love, and Lauren was understandably nervous about getting married so early in their relationship. Even though Cameron was gung-ho from the start, Lauren was honest about her struggles to follow his lead and push past her anxiety. From fearing pushback from her father to being stressed out about planning their ceremony, Lauren wasn't putting up any pretenses about how the experience was going. She made it clear that she was deeply in love with Cameron, but was still unsure about whether she was ready to make such a big commitment. We're really happy she chose to say yes, though!

It's been over a year since they got married on the show, but the Hamiltons look happier than ever!
