89 Songs That Were Definitely Played at Every Middle School Dance in the Late '00s

Nov 22 2019 - 1:55pm

If there's one thing I remember about my middle school [1] dances in the late '00s, it's this: every single one of them was awkward. When kids in my school first heard about the dance, we'd get nervous because we thought we needed to find dates, but in the end, the squad would just roll up together. Luckily, date or no date, we could always depend on the DJ in our cafeteria (or gym) (or auditorium) (you get the idea) to play the biggest hits on the radio [2].

While maybe these nights didn't always go as imagined, my friends and I loved bopping around to all the hit songs of the late '00s. From "Super Bass" to "Beautiful Girls," we danced nonstop [3]. If you're itching for a night out inspired by that particular decade of music, press play on nearly 100 of my own personal favorites, ahead!
