Lola Consuelos Shares Parents Mark and Kelly Ripa's Reaction to Her New Song: "They Loved It"

Lola Consuelos is making her music debut! On Aug. 9, the 21-year-old daughter of Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos [1] released her first single, "Paranoia Silverlining," featuring JO JO. "I've been making music since I was 14 years old and never really had anything that I thought was legitimate enough to write about or something that resonated with me," Lola told People [2] on Aug. 10. "So I came up with the idea around 'Paranoia Silverlining,' which is the notion that maybe your biggest fears don't exist and that everyone, like it or not, [are] going to be paranoid."

According to Lola, the song was "a good theme for what was going on in my life at the moment" and she just "really liked the vibe and the sound of everything." She added: "I thought, 'If I don't do this now, I don't know if I ever will,' because I can second guess myself a lot."

Lola celebrated the song's release on her Instagram Aug. 11, thanking her followers for their support. "Thank you for showing paranoia silver lining all the love and support ❤️," she wrote. "biggest thank you to my dream team: @kvasnosky and @rushlikeathrill … couldn't have done it without you two🥹 special shout out @tylerjscott @beckermastering @yung_gammond you guys rockkkkkk 🎸🎸🎸."

Of launching her music career, Lola told People she's at a point in her life where she just wants "to get the ball rolling." She explained, "I just turned 21. I have a lot of material to write about. As I've gotten older, I have a lot more life experience in terms of relationships and friendships. It was a good introduction to the type of music I like to make and what I like to speak about."

Lola is Kelly and Mark's only daughter. They are also parents to sons Michael, 25, and Joaquin, 19. "They loved it," Lola told the publication of her parents' reaction to her new song. "My parents are the last people to sugarcoat anything when it comes to my singing. They are going to tell me if it sounds bad! So when I saw they had a good reaction and liked it, I felt reassured."

Now that her first single is finally out, Lola says this is just the beginning. "This was a breakthrough for me," she told People. "I feel a lot more confident with myself as an artist. I was so much more excited now that I finally put something out to show everyone else."
