ICYMI, Taylor Swift [1] dropped her surprise eighth studio album, Folklore [2], on July 24, and one listener was so in love with the album's 14th track that she needed Swift to hear about it ASAP. On July 27, singer-songwriter Maisie Peters shared an angelic piano cover of "Betty" on Twitter, and the minute-long video has definitely left us wanting more.
"It's important @taylorswift13 knows that i would die for betty [sic]," Peters captioned the tweet. Fans of the singer were quick to leave praise-filled comments on the video, but one fan's comment, in particular, stood out among the rest. "My ears have been blessed on this fine Tuesday," Swift wrote a day after the video was posted, praising Peters for her stunning cover and incredible musical talent.
"You heard the rumors from Inez / You can't believe a word she says / Most times, but this time it was true / The worst thing that I ever did / Was what I did to you," Peters sang over the beautiful melody of the piano in the background. Our fingers are crossed that Swift will invite Peters to collab with her on a full song cover from the Folklore album [3] (maybe "Cardigan" [4]?) sometime soon. In the meantime, please allow your ears to be blessed by Peters's full "Betty" cover here.
