When it comes to acceptance speeches [1], the cast of Minari [2] certainly knows how to tug at the heartstrings with their genuine earnestness and shock. During Sunday night's SAG Awards, Yuh-Jung Youn was stunned as she accepted the award for outstanding performance by a female actor in a supporting role. "I don't know how to describe my feelings. I'm being recognized by westerners," she said. Despite being relatively new to American audiences, Yuh-Jung Youn's career has spanned over five decades in South Korea. She also made SAG Awards history [3] by not only being the first Korean actress to win the category but the first Asian winner in any individual SAG motion picture category.
"It is very, very honored . . . especially by my actor fellow choose me as a supporting actress," Youn added. She is also nominated for best supporting actress [4] at the Academy Awards for her role as Soonja in Minari. You can watch her heartwarming speech in the full video above.
