3 Women Get Their Revenge on a Conman in Netflix's The Tinder Swindler

Netflix [1]'s latest true-crime documentary [2] might give Tiger King [3] a run for its money. The streaming service dropped the trailer for The Tinder Swindler on Tuesday, which tells the true story of convicted conman Shimon Hayut [4], who scammed several women he met off of the dating app [5]. Hayut dubbed himself "The Prince of Diamonds" and went by the alias Simon Leviev to trick women into believing he was the son of diamond businessman Lev Leviev. The upcoming Netflix documentary specifically focuses on three women — Cecilie Fjellhoy, Pernilla Sjoholm, and Ayleen Charlotte — who worked together to get their revenge on the conman.

In the trailer, Fjellhoy, Sjoholm, and Charlotte all described their relationship beginnings with Hayut and the moment they found out he was a conman. "When I first talked with Simon, we immediately had a bond," Fjellhoy began, adding, "It felt like stepping into a movie." Sjoholm told cameras, "He was smart and funny and very impulsive," followed by Charlotte, who said, "I shared my whole heart with him." The women then detailed the lavish ways the conman treated them, from private jets to five-star hotels, before he began asking Fjellhoy for $20,000, Sjoholm for $30,000, and Charlotte for $140,000. Police eventually told them he "was never real," and the women decided to team up to "swindle the Tinder Swindler." The Tinder Swindler premieres on Feb. 2.
