Nick Cannon [2] and his daughter know how to spend a Wednesday morning. On Aug. 17, the entertainer shared a video [3] of himself and his 11-year-old daughter, Monroe, dancing around to "Emotions" by Mariah Carey [4] — who also happens to be Monroe's mom and Cannon's ex-wife. "No better way to start our day!! All in our #Emotions!!" the 41-year-old wrote in the caption, tagging Carey.
The post comes a few days after Carey found herself at the center of a controversy for attempting to trademark the title "Queen of Christmas," [5] which provoked the ire of Darlene Love and other Christmas musicians.
Cannon and Carey were married in April 2008 and welcomed twins Monroe and Moroccan [6] on April 30, 2011. They divorced in 2016. In July 2022, Cannon announced the birth of his eighth child [7], his first with model Bri Tiesi [8]. In the past, Cannon has also been linked to Kim Kardashian [9] and Brittany Bell, while Carey has dated [10] Derek Jeter, was engaged to James Packer, and is currently dating Bryan Tanaka [11]. Both seem to enjoy sharing sweet moments with their kids, with Carey helping her kids put on a full-on fashion show [12] in front of an audience in July — and of course, her Christmas plans [13] for her family are next level.
