Relive Each of the Game of Thrones Title Sequences to See How They've Changed

The first season's credits begin in King's Landing and then move across the map to Winterfell. We also see the Wall before the camera glides across the sea to Pentos.

Just like season one, season two starts off at King's Landing as the buildings rise from the map. From there, instead of going to Winterfell, the map leads to Dragonstone before heading to Pyke. We do eventually travel to Winterfell before heading to the cold isolation of the Wall. The final destination leads us to the Dothraki Lands.

The first two destinations of the season three opening credits remain the same. But after visiting Dragonstone, the map veers toward Harrenhal. Traveling north from Harrenhal, the credits show Winterfell as bleak and dark as it was in the third season of the show. Our tour of the map then takes us to the Wall and from there over the sea to Astapor.

In a rare move, the season four credits do not change from season three.

Season five returns to season one's roots, with the map beginning on King's Landing and then traveling north to Winterfell — but Winterfell looks different. With Ramsay Bolton now in charge, there are small details in the structure of the building that have changed. We return to the Wall only to veer far south to Braavos, landing on a new location, Meereen, before finally turning to Dorne.

Continuing in season one tradition, the season six opening credits begin at King's Landing, winding to Winterfell, and then to the Wall. The map then turns to Braavos, Meereen, and then Dorne before the gilded Game of Thrones title is revealed.

For the seventh time in a row, the opening credits to Game Of Thrones begins in King's Landing at the start of season seven. But instead of venturing to Winterfell, the map moves to Dragonstone before turning its sights on the Twins. From there, the map finally leads us to Winterfell, restored to its former glory. The map then turns to the Wall before its next landing place in Oldtown.

For the first time, the sequence begins at the Wall, destroyed by the White Walkers. As we move across the map, tiles flip over to signify the Walkers getting ever closer to Last Hearth, our next destination in the opening credits. From Last Hearth, the map moves to Winterfell, in its full glory surrounded by Winter. The opening credits then veer off the map and settle into the crypts of Winterfell before journeying to King's Landing. Moving through the shifting gears of the city and the castle, we finally come face to face with the Iron Throne.
