All of Louis Tomlinson's Solo Songs, Ranked From Good to Better to Best

It's not that I don't love this song, because I do. I'm a big fan of Bebe Rexha and think she adds a fun flair to this track. However, it feels like the one that Louis Tomlinson is least connected to lyrics-wise. Some thought the song might tie back to his longtime on-again, off-again girlfriend Eleanor Calder, but Tomlinson has mostly just said the lyrics are real but not necessarily real to him. It's for that disconnect that I'm putting this at the bottom of my list.

I love the sentiment behind this song. Louis Tomlinson wrote this heartfelt song for his mom, who died in 2016 of leukemia. Just listening to it honestly makes me want to cry. The fact that it's so touching actually makes it hard for me to listen to. I'm not a fan of slower songs or songs that tug at my heart strings, so of the two Tomlinson songs written for his mom, this one gets a lower ranking.

Louis Tomlinson rolled out "Just Hold On" in a live performance on The X Factor with Steve Aoki just days after his mom passed away. It was his first release as a solo artist and something he did at his mom's wishes. Despite the song being about his mom and for his mom, there's an element of hope to it that makes you want to keep listening over and over, which is why I prefer this one to "Two of Us."

The third track released from Louis Tomlinson's debut album Walls, "We Made It" is a chill tune with a meaning that's up for interpretation. A breakup of sorts? Whatever the case, this song feels like one Tomlinson truly cares about, considering he wrote it years before it was released but it stuck with him. What I love about this song is how much he seems to love it.

The lyrics of "Just Like You" show a vulnerable side to Louis Tomlinson. He sings about how even though on the surface his life seems great — money, fame, etc. — his pain is just like the rest of ours. It's a raw and real song that will sit with you long after it's over.

If you're looking for a Louis Tomlinson bop, this is it. I start my day every day with this song (seriously, it's the alarm on my phone). Possibly my favorite part of this song is how clearly you can hear Tomlinson's Doncaster, England, accent. It's also oh so quotable — I've lost count of how many times I find myself saying "everything is f*cking great."

"Kill My Mind" came out of nowhere for me and leapt to the top of my list upon its release. This song is a definite departure from everything else he's released, but according to the man himself, this song is fully in line with his style and what he plans to do from here on out. He said in a news release, "I felt like I had to make a certain sound of music, but then I had a moment where I sat and thought, I just need to make music that is true to myself," and the result is "Kill My Mind."

I truly didn't think Louis Tomlinson would give me a song better than "Kill My Mind," but then "Don't Let It Break Your Heart" happened. This song is the anthem I've been desperately needing from him, and I've already got it playing on repeat. Tomlinson just keeps getting better and better and proving to the world that he's a phenomenal songwriter and beautiful performer.
