Beyoncé Pays Tribute to Kobe and Gianna Bryant With a Beautiful Performance at Their Memorial

Thousands of people gathered at the Los Angeles Staples Center on Monday to celebrate the lives of Kobe and Gianna Bryant. Among them was Beyoncé, who opened the memorial with a beautiful performance of "XO" and "Halo." "I'm here because I love Kobe and this was one of his favorite songs," she told the crowd before singing "XO." Along with the performance, Beyoncé honored the former LA Laker by wearing a gold suit.

Kobe and his 13-year-old daughter died in a helicopter crash with seven other people — Ara Zobayan, Sarah and Payton Chester, Christina Mauser, and Keri, Alyssa, and John Altobelli — in Calabasas, CA, on Jan. 26. The memorial also brought out Kobe's wife, Vanessa, along with several of his friends, including Stephen Curry, Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade, Draymond Green, James Harden, Jennifer Lopez, Alex Rodriguez, and Jimmy Kimmel.
