Channing Tatum Jokes That Filming a Lap Dance With Salma Hayek Was a "Long, Arduous Process"

Salma Hayek and Channing Tatum get pretty cozy [1] in "Magic Mike's Last Dance." In one scene, they get particularly intimate when Tatum gives Hayek a lap dance — and in an interview with POPSUGAR, they discussed what it took to film that scene.

"It's a long lap dance," Hayek says, explaining they spent around four to six hours practicing for the scene. "I've never done that before," she adds. "It's a long, arduous process," Tatum responds.

In "Magic Mike's Last Dance," Tatum plays the titular stripper, who follows a wealthy socialite (Hayek) to London in order to make some extra cash after she persuades him to join her profitable venture. There, Magic Mike trains a new generation of dancers — and develops a very close relationship with Hayek's character.

He also takes to the stage, brushing off his skills and reminding everybody where it all began. Magic Mike's striptease capabilities have always been one of the franchise's major draws, but in a Jan. 17 interview with Vanity Fair [3], Tatum put his abilities to the test when he claimed he was a better stripper than Jennifer Lopez [4]. He says he hasn't been in contact with her since he made the claim, but "would love to hear from J Lo," and "if she wants to throw it down, let's go. I do think I'll lose that battle," he continues. "I just said that I'm willing . . . I'm down for the go-go. It depends on what the crowd is."

"If it's all women, maybe you will win," Hayek responds. "I don't know, I think she's pretty good even in that arena," Tatum responds.

"Magic Mike's Last Dance" hits theaters on Feb. 10. Watch the full interview above.
