Timothée Chalamet and Pete Davidson Nail the Cringey TikTok Rapper Vibe a Little Too Well

Timothée Chalamet [1] and Pete Davidson took over Saturday Night Live [2] on Dec. 12, and while they made plenty of jokes, it's "yeet" and "skrrt" that'll be ringing in my ears for days afterward. As the Dune actor made his hosting debut on Saturday night, he enlisted Davidson's help plenty of times, like when they played an obnoxious rap duo against Questlove — playing himself — and Punkie Johnson's Queen Latifah [3] in a skit titled "Rap Roundtable."

As Questlove and Latifah reflect on the culture of hip-hop with Ego Nwodim's "Nunya Bizness" hosting, it's clear Chalamet's "$mokecheddathaassgetta" and Davidson's "Guaplord" really don't understand music beyond what they've seen on TikTok and . . . GEICO commercials? It's equal parts cringey and hilarious to see the pair perform their "hit track" live before Questlove loses his cool. Can you blame him? Watch the full skit above.
