Ted Bundy's Former Partner Elizabeth Kendall Breaks Silence After 40 Years in New Doc

Oct 24 2019 - 7:55am

If there's one woman who knew really knew Ted Bundy [1], it was his former girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer Kendall [2]. The pair dated throughout the 1970s, and she eventually wrote a memoir — titled The Phantom Prince: My Life With Ted Bundy [3] — in 1981 to share her side of the story. She will appear in Amazon Prime Video's new documentary series Ted Bundy: Falling For a Killer alongside her daughter Molly, who was a toddler when she met Bundy.

The five-part docuseries will chronicle Kendall's relationship with Bundy, and she'll be sharing photos from her archive of never-before-seen family photos. "After nearly 40 years of silence, Kendall and her daughter Molly share their experiences with new unsettling details about Bundy, [and] the inconceivable pull he had on women," Amazon said in the statement released on Oct. 16. "They are joined by a chorus of female voices, including survivors of Bundy's attacks [4] — some of whom are stepping forward for the first time — with chilling accounts that will forever change the Bundy narrative."

Through the pair's first-person stories, the series is reframing Bundy's horrific crimes [5] from a female perspective and exploring the disturbing and profound ways his pathological hatred of women played out during the culture wars and feminist movement of the 1970s.

The series, Ted Bundy: Falling For a Killer, is set for release on Amazon Prime Video in 2020.
