If "Night of 1000 Meryls" was a lip-sync for your life, there would've been an 11-way tie, that's how tight the drag queens' performances are. Unlike the infamous "Night of 1000 Madonnas" from RuPaul's Drag Race [1] season nine episode six, there were no outfit repeats (or kimonos in sight) as the queens performed "It's Not About Me" from Netflix's The Prom [2]. The musical adaptation follows Meryl Streep [3] as Broadway star Dee Dee Allen as she and fellow down-on-their-luck Broadway actors [4] try and help high-school student Emma win back the right to take her girlfriend to the local prom [5].
Embodying different characters from Streep's career, Drag Race alumni Manila Luzon, Monique Heart, Kim Chi, Jinkx Monsoon, Vanessa "Vanjie" Mateo, Willam, Valentina, Delta Work, and non-Drag Race queens Dani Kay, Big Dee, and Jewels, give a performance that would earn a standing ovation from Dee Dee Allen herself! You can experience the full video above, then check out which Streep each queen was portraying in the pictures below.
