You're Invited to POPSUGAR and Terry McMillan's "Waiting to Exhale" Watch Party

Feb 23 2022 - 12:00pm

It's been 30 years [1] (!) since Terry McMillan released "Waiting to Exhale," a story that centers Black women's perspectives on love and life. The iconic film adaptation [2], which wouldn't be the last of her works to hit the big screen before the end of the '90s, would go on to gross $82 million and earn 11 Grammy nominations, including album of the year and song of the year for "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)."

We're thrilled to announce McMillan will be joining POPSUGAR for a "Waiting to Exhale" watch party on Friday, Feb. 25, at 3:30 p.m. PT/6:30 p.m. ET. Join in on the conversation happening over at POPSUGAR [3] with #PSWatches, and catch the film on Amazon Prime [4] or HBO Max [5].

If your 2022 reading list needs a bit more friendship, and maybe a sprinkle of revenge, this is a perfect time to pick up a copy of "Waiting to Exhale" [6] ($18) or any of McMillan's other works [7].
