What I'm Listening To This Week: SiR, Justine Skye, Willow, and Emotional Oranges

This may be a controversial thing to admit, but I'm glad Summer's over. Yes, I said it! I'm ready for Virgo season energy, crisp apples, cozy sweaters, and even cozier music. In this edition of What I'm Listening to This Week, SiR's new album is the musical equivalent of rubbing aloe vera all over your body after a day at the beach; a perfect post-Summer salve, basically. I'm also enjoying the latest EP from R&B singer Justine Skye, plus a dreamy track from Willow and a. . . masturbation anthem? I'll let you scroll through and see for yourself. Here's what you should slam the play button on this week, and why.

Bare With Me EP by Justine Skye

Bare With Me EP by Justine Skye

This 6-track EP is emotional pop-R&B at its best. I loved Skye's 2018 album Ultraviolet and am so happy to see her back with this sultry, introspective set of songs.

Standout track: "Bulletproof," because the Caribbean-inspired beat will have you winding your hips.

"Just Like You" by Emotional Oranges

The R&B duo's latest single is from their upcoming album The Juice Vol. II, which is out in October. It's got a cute, laid-back beat, and is basically an ode to masturbation. You're welcome!

"Time Machine" by Willow

Willow Smith's latest song is pure bliss. Curl up in your weighted blanket, grab a cup of tea (or something stronger, you deserve it), and let her dreamy vocals take you away.

Chasing Summer by SiR

Chasing Summer by SiR

The latest album from alt-R&B singer SiR is an ideal mix of all my faves: there are shades of Channel Orange-era Frank Ocean on the heartwrenching "LA Lisa," bits of 6lack on the romantic "Fire," and "New Sky" definitely gets me up and grooving like a Leon Bridges song would. It's been on repeat all week, and is perfect from start to finish, fam. I can't recommend Chasing Summer enough.

Standout tracks: "John Redcorn," because it's such a great sad girl bop, and "Mood," because well, it's a mood.
