Before Saving Lives on The Good Doctor, Antonia Thomas Was on These 3 TV Shows
With all of the garbage constantly inundating us in the news cycle each day, curling up on the couch and watching a feel-good TV show is sometimes all we can do to stay sane. One of our new Fall favorites has been The Good Doctor, and much of that is owed to the performance of Antonia Thomas as Dr. Claire Browne. Along with costar Freddie Highmore, who plays a young surgeon with autism and Savant syndrome, the British actress brings plenty of heart to the role. Before she was saving lives at San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital, however, she popped up in quite a few shows in the UK, which probably explains why you may think she looks so familiar.
Likely the most well-known role in her career, Thomas played Alisha Daniels on three seasons of the cult hit Misfits. Ashley was one of the original members of the group of teens who unexpectedly gain superpowers, with hers being the ability to send people into a sexual frenzy with a simple touch. Thomas brought depth and humor to the part, especially in the show's darker scenes.
For those who aren't aware, Lovesick — which follows a British 20-something named Dylan who discovers he has an STD and must notify all the women he's ever slept with — is one of the best romantic-comedies on Netflix. Thomas appears in the easily binge-able series as Evie, Dylan's college friend and flatmate. Their will-they-or-won't-they dynamic makes for some of the show's most emotional moments.
Although this UK miniseries only lasted for six episodes, that's all the time you need to be impressed by Thomas's performance as Tasha Raveley. She plays one of four army wives struggling to cope while their husbands are stationed abroad.
