A New App Is Accused of Scalping Reservations at Popular Disney Restaurants

Sep 11 2015 - 9:02am

There are many hacks and apps out there to help families navigate and take advantage of the deals at Disney World, but you may want to avoid the DiS Dining Agent when planning where you'll take the kids to eat.

A report from Sandra Pedicini of the Orlando Sentinel [1] revealed that the app, which allows users to book reservations at popular eateries like Be Our Guest restaurant, is charging customers a fee for the service.

DiS Dining Agent reportedly makes reservations under false names then charges users a $15 fee to use the reservation. Known as reservation scalping, this practice is popular in cities like New York and Los Angeles and is becoming more common in tourist destinations.

While the app isn't affiliated with the Disney theme parks, Disney spokeswoman Jacquee Wahler said they are reviewing the situation.
