Circle of Moms Engineer is In it to End It!" title="Avon Walk for Breast Cancer - Circle of Moms Engineer is In it to End It!">
Many of us at Circle of Moms have mothers, sisters, and friends who have battled breast cancer. So when our senior engineer, Regina Capurro, decided to take on the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer this coming July, we were incredibly proud. We've signed on to support her, and we hope that you'll take a minute to read her thoughts on the walk, below, and to consider sponsoring her as well. — The Circle of Moms RoundUp Editors
On July 7th and 8th I will ask the sun to be bright and the wind to be often at my back. For the occasional cloud to drift across a clear Northern California sky without a drop of rain falling to the ground. I will ask the hills to be kind as my feet land step after step along a route of hope, empowerment, community, and beauty.
I will ask my stride to be steady and for my toes to recall that a blister, in comparison to breast cancer, is incomparably small and nothing to complain about. I will ask my heart to beat strong and uplifted, surrounded by survivors, champions of women's health, and people like me, who walk for a friend or loved one. Most of all, I will ask for strategically placed bathrooms - because let's face it, 39 miles is a long way to hold it!
Zig-zagging across one of the most beautiful cities in the world for two days, there will be time to remember and cherish all those touched by this disease, and dream of the day when it's no longer a dream that every woman has access to the medical care she needs and deserves, as much as her loved ones need and deserve her. 39 miles for my mom, grandmothers, aunts, friends, cousins, neighbors, teachers and sisters. For the daughter I may have someday, and for yours. For women everywhere - along with thousands of other participants creating a moving sea of spirited purpose, to promote awareness, raise funds for research and treatment, and to rid this world of breast cancer, I'll go the distance in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in San Francisco. But I'll need your help to do it.
Any size donation you can give will ensure my nights and mornings training aren't in vain, and go a long way to help me surpass my fundraising goal. Even a positive thought, prayer, or vote of encouragement will make a difference, and the end of the walk will feel like what it really is - the beginning.
Thanks for your support!!
