Eman and Marcus were both collegiate athletes and met in 2008 while attending college — eight years later, they were expecting a beautiful baby boy. They both absolutely love basketball and decided that it would be the perfect theme for their baby shower [1], especially since Marcus currently plays basketball competitively for the US Army. This splendid baby shower took place at the Durham Convention Center in Durham, NC, and was full of friends and family that were excited for Eman and Marcus's journey into parenthood [2]. Even though a few days before the shower Marcus had to leave for Germany for the US Army, he was there in spirit via FaceTime and was able to experience the joyful event remotely.
There were so many cute themed details in the decor, like the cake topped with a basketball and basketball-shaped cupcakes and lollipops. Guests also wrote their wishes for the couple on basketballs. They played some classic baby shower games [3], like guessing the price of baby items. "This coed event included close friends and family of the parents-to-be, games, great food, prizes, and of course, plenty of showered gifts," said photographer Jennifer Outlaw [4] about the celebrations.
