This Photographer's Christmas Vacation-Themed Photo Shoot Is What Cranky Christmas Dreams Are Made Of

Lyndsey Wright, a photographer and mom, knows the importance of going big or going home during the holiday season. And you know who else had that same mindset? Clark Griswold in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. In an effort to commemorate the classic Christmas movie, Lyndsey did a full-on photo shoot that's inspired by some of the most well-known scenes.

"One of my best friends has seen about five movies in her life," wrote Lyndsey. "Christmas Vacation is one of them and she's seen it about a bajillion times. It's her all time favorite. She sent me a still shot from the movie from when the Griswolds went to get their tree and she asked if we could PLEASE do that with their family. I said, "Uhh . . . YEAH!" At the same time, we began sending each other screenshots and decided we needed to do multiple scenes. It was all over from there."

As expected, the photo shoot was a bit of a process from getting the perfect outfits to finding the right props.

"It took two FULL days and who-knows-how-many thrift stores and homes of friends and relatives to borrow items in order to find all the costumes and props (over 70 items went into making this shoot happen), a couple hours to shoot the images, and I spent about nine hours editing them," she wrote, adding that the shoot was "TOTALLY WORTH IT!!"
