For a long time, pregnant and nursing moms steered clear of pro sports games. And who can blame them? The environment is loud, they can't drink the overpriced beer, and what's a mom to do about feeding time? But the Cincinnati Reds have taken all of this into consideration, partnering with Pampers and Fischer Homes [1] to create the ultimate gift to Reds-loving moms: a luxurious nursing suite.
Complete with bottles, rocking chairs, changing tables, and a bathroom (bye-bye, long stadium lines!), the Great American Ball Park's nursing suite is a safe haven for moms and infants. "We'll also have flat-screen TVs so that they won't miss the game, and there will be toys to play with if the 3-year-old has to come with them," Reds chief operating officer Phil Castellini told ESPN [2] of the suite, reminding moms that they're also free to nurse at their normal stadium seats. Talk about a dream come true!
Check out these photos of the suite, and be sure to voice your appreciation . . . Perhaps if the Reds' nursing suite is a success, other major league sports organizations will follow suit.
